Program Curriculum & Structure
The MA Degree in Globalization Studies and Cultural Diplomacy with a Concentration on International Relations is offered by the University of Bucharest in partnership with the Academy for Cultural Diplomacy.
The program consists of 120 ECTS credits in total and has a duration of four semesters, which take place in both Berlin, Germany and Bucharest, Romania. The first two semesters of the program are hosted by the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy in Berlin and the third and the forth semesters are hosted by the University of Bucharest.
The degree focuses on several academic disciplines related to International Relations & Economics, Global Politics and Cultural Diplomacy, with a particular emphasis on the theories of globalization as well as its historical evolution, which will be examined with a special emphasis upon cultural diplomacy and its historical and contemporary application within the context of a contemporary globalized world. The degree prepares students for careers in diverse fields, such as the field of international relations, the humanities, politics and culture, with a special focus on the main agents of globalization and the application of Cultural Diplomacy in the framework of global governance and international organizations.

The first semester will take place in Berlin between the dates of February 28th - May 9th, 2014
The second semester will take place in Berlin between the dates of June 8th - August 15th, 2014
The third semester will take place in Bucharest between the dates of October 1st, 2014 - December 19th, 2014
The forth semester will take place in Bucharest between the dates of February 16th - May 8th, 2015
The core curriculum of the program provides a thorough background and analysis of the most significant theories and practices within the fields of Globalization, International Relations/Politics/Economics and Cultural Diplomacy, using a historical and case study approach.
